eIntro
to Algebra
eIntro to Algebra is being developed by the UCLA Center for
Digital Innovation in cooperation with the UCLA Mathematics Content
Program for Teachers program as an electronic companion to Introduction
to Algebra. It consists of modules designed to highlight the skills
needed to prepare low-achieving 8th grade students for algebra.
Each module includes a set of activities that follow a pedagogical
approach which emphasizes the use of multiple representations of
a problem. Module activities include interactive animations, videos,
and quizzes that act in concert to reinforce highlighted skills.
Modules and their activities are seamlessly integrated into a contemporary
MP3 player motif.

Biology Weblabs
AP Biology Weblabs is a web-based high school level biology laboratory
course designed as a laboratory supplement to an Advanced Placement
Biology course. It provides each student with a complete set of
interactive labs that provides the realism of a traditional hands-on
course. It is a SCORM-compatible instructional environment that
can be run in a course management system such as Blackboard.

Calculus Online
Calculus Online is an Internet-based course developed by the UCLA
Center for Digital Innovation (CDI) that allows high school students
to take an Advanced Placement (AP) course in calculus. It is a SCORM-compatible
instructional environment that That can be run in a course management
system such as Blackboard. It is equivalent to a classroom-based
course and prepares students for the AP exam in calculus.

ICDL
4.0 On-line
This program is designed to prepare students and working professionals
for International Computer Driving License (ICDL)
certification. This comprehensive course covers all of the
seven main topics of the internationally approved 4.0 syllabus that
comprise: Information Technology, Using Computers, Word Processing,
Spreadsheets, Database, Presentation, and Information and Communication.
ICDL 4.0 On-line describes each topic in detail
and demonstrates through animation and audio how to use current
commercial application software in each topic. Hands-on exercises
allow students to learn by going through the steps of the applications
themselves.

Physics Online
Advanced Placement Physics Online is a web-based college
level physics course used to prepare high school students for the
College Board Advanced Placement (AP) exam in physics. The course
breaks new ground by providing a multimedia environment for studying
that transcends the traditional textbook format. Lectures that cover
the entire curriculum are presented that seamlessly integrate Flash
animations, videos and interactive simulations. AP Physics Online
includes chat, whiteboard and forum programs for student-teacher
interactivity and an integrated course management system. This comprehensive
program was developed in partnership with University California
College Prep (UCCP) Initiative.

Advanced Placement Environmental Science Online (ESOL) is
a web-based college level environmental science course used to prepare
high school students for the College Board Advanced Placement
(AP) exam in Environmental Science. It provides each student with
a comprehensive multimedia experience including text, figures, photos,
Flash animations, videos and interactive, Java-based laboratory
simulations. ESOL includes chat and forum programs for student-teacher
interactivity and an integrated course management system. Developed
in collaboration with University California College Prep (UCCP)
Initiative.

"Wattsville needs your help now!". With that pronouncement
you are thrust into the mythical city of Wattsville where
you must repair the damage done to the city's different power plants
by a mischevious Gremlin. Wattsville is a web-based science
education program geared for Junior High and High School students.
Teachers will enjoy the customized assessment tools that allow them
to follow student progress using Intelligent Agent software.

SmartSchool is a comprehensive internet-based educational
system that delivers interactive multimedia material and support
software for an entire school or school district. To include everyone

vertical integration.

Interactive Multimedia Education at a Distance (IMED)
is a web-based delivery system for University level course material
and software applications at UCLA. IMED not only
includes customized multimedia educational content, but also authoring
tools for instructors to build their courses using their own material.
IMED also includes assessment applications and on-line office
hours.

Multimedia Enhanced Physics Instruction (MEPI) is
a CD-ROM based software program that includes content for the complete
range of Introductory Physics from Classical Mechanics to Quantum
Mechanics. MEPI includes text, videos, simulations, quizzes
and problems with a built-in tutor to present physics in an interactive
and interesting way. MEPI is distributed by McGraw-Hill
Publishers.

CyberChem
is a CD-ROM based software program that includes content for Introductory
Chemisty. CyberChem includes text, videos, cyberlabs, quizzes
and problems with a built-in tutor to present chemistry in an interactive
and interesting way. CyberChem is co-authored by Raymond
Chang from Williams College and is distribution by McGraw-Hill
Publishers.

Rock
Talk
Rock
Talk: The Vowels is a product based on materials developed by
Jenny Redding to teach proper pronunciation to non-native US English
speakers by having them sing popular songs. In the style of American
50's Rock 'n' Roll, CDI has produced a digital version of
Redding's content and included cutting edge web-based technologies
in voice analysis and accent training as well as on-line challenges
(quizzes) and games. Rock Talk: The Vowels allows users to
capture and listen to their own voices and compare their voices
both acoustically and visually (through acoustic analysis technology)
to native US English speakers; all available through the use of
a conventional web browser.
